Adam Schreurs is a third-generation vegetable grower. Together with his cousin, Adam owns and operates Schreurs & Sons, growing predominantly celery, leek and baby leaf in Victoria. Adam is passionate about ensuring the business operates in a sustainable manner, working together with the environment. The business achieves this through various means, including actively practicing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and planting native flora on the farms, which not only act as wind breaks, but also encourage the harbourage of beneficial insects critical to the IPM program. Adam also plays an active role in projects surrounding soil health, including the use biofumigant or green manure crops to reduce the need to spray for weeds and apply fertilisers/soil additives.
